A Conversation Not a Confrontation

The art of protest and artists' activism has a long history and the current political moment seems to have set the art world on fire. Currently, The Fleming Museum at the University of Vermont is presenting Be Strong and Do Not Betray Your Soul along with Resist-Insist-Persist, two exhibitions featuring art as protest. I covered the former along with We Are For Freedoms, an exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art in an article focusing on the power of photography as political statement in the current issue of Art New England.
